I am interested in creating my own electric bike using a Bafang 1000w motor and a 52v battery. At this point, I am now looking for a good—but wallet friendly—mountain bike. Whatever recommendations from Walmart, Target, etc. would be appreciated. I’ve already considered the Kent Trouvaille, but those seem hard to find. $150-400 ideally. started with a stock trouvaille I bought at walmart for 400. I rode that for a year and a half or so in stock form. The only thing i had done at that point was different pedals. Today I more or less finished a project I started sometime around last oct. I got Ltwoo R5 gravel components from Aliexpress.Got my new Kent trouvaille down to 26.4lbs The only original parts are the frame and stem (added titanium bolts) I put quite a few dollars in too it 😀 and today I picked up a new Schwinn Axum DP for 300.002 biggest differences I think are the internal dropper post routing and the lack of a kick stand. Ozark has two water bottle cage bosses, braze-ons in the back for a rack for hauling groceries or bikepacking.
